Billy Napier addresses O'Cyrus Torrence's status, Josh Braun's exit

The Gators were without one of their top players, right guard O’Cyrus Torrence, in their loss to LSU last Saturday. He was listed as questionable for the game with a right knee injury.
During his appearance Wednesday on the SEC teleconference, Florida coach Billy Napier provided an update on the status of Torrence, who was named an AP midseason All-American.
“O’Cyrus was available for practice (Tuesday), at a certain percentage. He’s making great progress,” Napier said.
With Torrence sidelined, Richie Leonard IV made his first start of the season against LSU and was named one of the players of the game by the UF coaching staff.
Moving forward, the Gators will have one less option at the guard position for the remainder of the year. Gators Online reported Tuesday that Joshua Braun has left the football program to preserve his redshirt and enter the transfer portal.

Napier addressed Braun’s departure on the SEC teleconference.
“I think a tough situation for Josh,” he said. “A lot of things going on there relative to big picture for him personally with his wife, his degree, certainly his role on the team. So, Josh has been a class act. Extremely bright, you know. A guy that’s close to getting his degree here.
“He wants more of a role. And certainly, you know, interesting decision relative to being right in the middle of the season. But we’ve got nothing but respect in Josh and certainly will help him going forward in any way possible.”
