Billy Napier extends Rob Sale, Jabbar Juluke, Mike Peterson and Darnell Stapleton
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Billy Napier confirmed Wednesday that the Florida Gators have extended four coaches whose initial contracts were set to expire on January 31. The University Athletic Association has not fulfilled a Freedom of Information request to send the contracts which was sent a month ago.
Napier was asked on Wednesday about the four coaches from his initial staff whose original contracts were set to expire and if they would be back in 2024.
“Yeah, absolutely. We’re in the process of that right as we speak here.”
All four coaches have been out on the road recruiting and both Peterson and Stapleton were seen in the building on Wednesday, National Signing Day.
Rob Sale came to the Gators from the NFL, where he served as the New York Giants’ offensive line coach in 2021. Sale came to Florida with the title of offensive coordinator and co-offensive line coach. While Sale holds the title of offensive coordinator and is involved in the offensive game plan, he does not call plays — a job Billy Napier does himself. Sale and Stapleton tag team the offensive line duties — Florida is one of if not the only Power 5 school to have two offensive line coaches among their 10 on-field assistant coaches.
