GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators open SEC play on Saturday, playing hosting to Texas A&M for the first time since 2017. Both teams are 1-1 heading into this matchup and have question marks at the quarterback position.
Sixth-year senior Graham Mertz returns from a concussion as QB1, but the Gators plan to play five-star freshman DJ Lagway after his record-setting starting debut last week. However, it’s unknow how often Lagway will be used.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports A&M’s Conner Weigman is a “legitimate game-time decision” on Saturday. He’s dealing with an upper body injury that has limited him in practice and will be evaluated pre-game before a decision is made.
