Breaking down the Florida Gators depth chart vs. Missouri
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will host the Missouri Tigers this weekend for their third SEC game of the season. The Gators have lost six-straight SEC games dating back to last season.
This week the depth chart had several key changes. Most notably was the return of senior safety Trey Dean, who missed the Eastern Washington game with a “lower body injury.” Kamari Wilson started in place of Dean and the freshman from Fort Pierce played well. Redshirt freshman Donovan McMillon also played a big role last weekend.
“They’re going to continue to play, Kamari in particular. But, yeah, I thought they played well in the game. Still first start, made a few mistakes here or there. Got to eliminate the mental errors. Got to communicate better,” Billy Napier said Wednesday night. “Kamari is going to only get better with reps and experience. Had a great practice today. Made some really good plays in practice. Good young player. Got character, really cares. He has a good tool set, skill set to work with.”
Injury Report
Gators’ linebacker Diwun Black and tight end Nick Elksnis were new additions to the injury report this week. The pair is listed as “OUT” against Missouri. Longsnapper Marco Ortiz and right tackle Michael Tarquin are both out this weekend. Tarquin was out of his walking boot for the first time on the sideline last weekend against Eastern Washington. Ortiz has also ditched the sling his arm had been in.

Listed as out due to a lower-body injury, Black has appeared in four of Florida’s five games this season. Black has played the vast majority of those snaps on special teams.
Tight end Nick Elksnis injured a shoulder and was in a sling at the end of the EWU game. Elksnis broke his scapula on the same shoulder. The typical timeline for a broken scapula would be six weeks with the first two weeks having your arm immobilized in a sling.
