GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Bri Wade resigned from her position Sunday as Florida’s Director of Football Recruiting & External Engagement, but she isn’t going far. In fact, she’s staying on the same team.

Wade has been hired by Florida Victorious as vice president of marketing, making a move from the recruiting industry to the NIL space. She officially starts on Monday.

“My background is in marketing,” Wade told FV. “I get to kind of reconnect with that because I did really enjoy being a marketing major because that is my roots. I get to fully dive into being a creative and get to explore that side of things outside of the recruiting realm.

“In recruiting, you’re kind of restricted because you have all of these compliance rules and things, but I feel like with being able to in charge of marketing for Florida Victorious, I have a lot more flexibility and I can get really creative and I can do some really cool stuff. I’m super excited about that.”

During her time at UF, Wade oversaw all on-campus recruiting efforts — most notably being tasked to plan, coordinate, and execute official visits, unofficial visits, game day recruiting programming, junior days, and special events — and creative oversight for on-campus recruiting needs.

Wade also assisted development efforts by planning, coordinating, and executing donor visits in conjunction with Gator Boosters and Florida Victorious. She also cultivated, developed and maintained positive relationships with vendors and businesses.

Those job responsibilities will serve her well at her next stop.

“Working in the recruiting world and just seeing how things have changed over the years, post COVID, and with NIL going into play, I see how important that piece is in the recruitment process,” Wade said. “Of course, it’s not everything but it is a very important piece in the recruiting process. Just seeing that piques my interest and excites me to be able to move over to this side of things and to help. I think I can bring a unique lens or outlook to it because I’ve been inside and I see what recruiting looks like. I think I’ll be a great bride between the two because they go hand-in-hand.”

Wade joined the Gators in 2022 as the director of on-campus recruiting and football events.

Wade worked previously with Napier for two seasons (2020-21) at Louisiana, where she played a vital role in landing the No. 1 recruiting class in the Sun Belt in back-to-back seasons.

Wade joined the Ragin’ Cajuns after spending 2019 as a football recruiting assistant at Mississippi State. She was also a student recruiting assistant for the Bulldogs from 2014-18.

A native of Byram, Miss., Wade graduated from Mississippi State University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and obtained a master’s degree in sport administration in 2019.

Prior to joining the MSU staff as a full-time recruiting staffer that year, Wade served as the graduate assistant in the office of institutional diversity and inclusion in Starkville.

She was a participant in the 2020 NFL Women’s Career in Football Forum and 2020 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar while also a member of the Women Leaders in College Sports.
