Recruiting is an afterthought for Rockledge (Fla.) offensive lineman Bryce Lovett.

On May 16, the 6-foot-5, 325-pound offensive lineman committed to Florida after making a handful of stops in Gainesville. And since then, he has taken his official visit and was also in town for last weekend’s Grill at the Ville cookout.

Additional programs such as Iowa State and Missouri still reach out from time to time; however, the 2023 prospect says his recruitment is completely shut down. He is all in with the Gators.

“My recruitment is done,” Lovett told Gators Online.

While attending Saturday’s cookout, Lovett relished his time with the additional prospects in attendance. He typically does not overwhelm uncommitted targets but made sure to answer any questions they had and explained why UF was the selection for him.

“It was cool. We just went up there to hang out and did different challenges. They added all the scores after the challenges and there was a winner,” Lovett said. “It was good and chill. They put 1-2 commits on each team to try to recruit the other players they had there. We hung out, ate and just had a good time.”

Lovett is still feeling the love from Billy Napier’s staff

Although he is now in the class, Lovett says the Gators show the same amount of love as they did when he was still on the market. That consistent approach is something he certainly appreciates.

“It’s a little different just knowing I’m a part of that now, but it’s pretty much the same. They’re showing the same amount of love from when I first went up there,” Lovett said.

The message was from offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton was simple and straight to the point.

“They just said to keep working, keep grinding and keep trying to come up there as much as I can to help them out. Also, just to keep learning,” Lovett said.

Another Rockledge prospect is a priority in Gainesville as well

Although he is two years away from graduation, 2024 four-star safety Jaylen Heyward has emerged as a top target for the Gators. He is also one of Lovett’s teammates at Rockledge High.

When speaking with GO this week, Heyward says Florida is one of a handful of schools sticking out the most. It’s the program recruiting him the hardest as well, and with Lovett locked in, you can expect the Gators to be in the mix until the very end.

“It’s pretty good. We talk a lot about his recruiting and he asks for advice sometimes,” Lovett said of his relationship with Heyward. “Obviously, I’m trying to recruit him to come play at Florida at the same time too, but at the same time, it’s all love. We are teammates, so we are pretty close.”

If all goes as planned, Lovett will be attending UF’s homecoming game against Missouri. Much of that is due to his brother, Zach Lovett, who is a redshirt freshman linebacker with the Tigers.

There is a good chance the three-star prospect attends the season opener against Utah as well.
