GAINESVILLE, Fla. — An 11-year wait is over. Monday, the long-awaited EA College Football 25 was released to those who purchased the deluxe edition of the game. The game will allow fans across the country to build dynasties, chase championships and a Heisman Trophy. It will also allow us to see what the Florida Gators will look like

Here are the ground rules that we’re playing by.

We set the difficulty to the highest level and did not intervene in any way. This is a complete simulation based on what the Gators are ranked and how the EA College Football 25 engine and computers simulated each game, week to week. We set the game to auto-recruit and progress players. Injuries and the new “wear and tear” system are also set on.

Here’s how it went.

Preseason

Before the season started, the Gators landed a commitment from 3-star right end Niles Foucha.

Aug. 31 – Miami

Final Score: 27-17 Miami
Season Record: 0-1
Summary: A renewal of a historic in-state rivalry and the kickoff to the 2024 football season. The Hurricanes jumped out to a 3-0 lead but the Gators would score 10 unanswered to go up 10-3. Miami scored twice to make it 17-10 heading into halftime. It would be All Miami in the third quarter, scoring 10 in the third quarter on the way to a 27-17 win in the Swamp.

Sep. 7 – Samford (FCS Southeast)

The Gators were led by Wisconsin transfer Chimere Dike who scored on a 50-yard rush in the first quarter and on an eight-yard pass from Graham Mertz later in first. Dike would make it a hat trick with a three-yard touchdown in the second. Florida opened a 24-0 lead but sat on it and wouldn’t score in the second half.
