Eagles GM & Florida grad Howie Roseman can't stop drafting Bulldogs
After drafting a string of Georgia Bulldogs, Philadelphia Eagles Executive Vice President and General Manager Howie Roseman joked he might not be a part of the Florida Alumni Association much longer. A graduate of the University of Florida, Roseman earned his bachelor’s degree in Gainesville and roomed with current Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch.
Now, he’s busy scouring draft boards and other NFL rosters to see how he can put together a team filled with as many Georgia alumni as possible.
After drafting three Georgia Bulldogs in defensive tackle Jalen Carter (No. 9), linebacker Nolan Smith (No. 30) and defensive back Kelee Ringo (No. 105), Roseman knew he’d hear about it from the UF faithful.
In an interview with ESPN’s Rece Davis, Roseman poked fun at his recent moves as general manager.
“I’m sure I’m out of the Florida Alumni Association as we speak,” he said on ESPN Saturday.
Roseman played into the rivalry some more, telling draftee Nolan Smith how it tore him apart to take so many Bulldogs, especially given their recent success against the Gators.
“I’m a Florida Gator, do you know how much this hurts my soul to take all these f***ing Georgia Bulldogs?” Roseman told Nolan Smith, his second 2023 selection from Florida’s SEC East foe.
Even after taking three Bulldogs in the first 105 picks of the 2023 NFL Draft, Roseman wasn’t done yet.

On Saturday, Roseman helped orchestrate a trade to bring Detroit Lions running back DeAndre Swift back home to Philadelphia after the Lions drafted Jahmyr Gibbs and signed David Montgomery in the offseason.
During the 2022 NFL Draft, Roseman selected two Bulldogs: defensive tackle Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean, fresh off the Bulldogs’ first National Championship since 1980.
Roseman boasts an impressive NFL front office resume
After graduating from the University of Florida, Roseman worked his way up the ranks of the Philadelphia Eagles organization, starting as an intern at age 24. For the last 23 years, Roseman’s been employed by the Eagles, working his way to the top of the front office.
The 2017 and 2022 FWAA NFL Executive of the Year built the roster of the Eagles’ first Super Bowl team and led the Birds back to the Super Bowl in 2022. Roseman was responsible for drafting star quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round of the 2020 Draft and signed him to an impressive $255M extension this offseason.
