Final injury report for the Florida Gators home opener vs. McNeese
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida coach Billy Napier released his team’s injury report Wednesday night for the home opener against McNeese. The Gators have five new injuries this week, two players who remain questionable and another who’s been ruled out.
Starting center Kingsley Eguakun, a redshirt junior, remains questionable with an ankle injury for the second straight week, while backup quarterback Jack Miller, a redshirt sophomore, is still questionable with a shoulder injury.
The most significant addition to the injury report is starting wide receiver Kahleil Jackson, a redshirt sophomore and former walk-on who earned a scholarship this offseason. He is questionable for Saturday’s game with a lower body injury.
Jackson’s status has opened the door for true freshman Eugene Wilson III to make his first career start at receiver. He had a 9-yard run and caught two passes for 24 yards along with a two-point conversion against Utah.
“He’s had a great camp. He’s very capable player, we saw some of that last week,” Napier said of Wilson. “Kahleil being banged up, we kind of shuffled the deck there. And he’s deserving, and he’s going to only get better as we go forward. So, still a freshman, and there’ll be some things that come with that. But he is proven to be a very effective player.”

In addition to Jackson, two more receivers are questionable this week with lower body injuries: redshirt sophomore receiver Marcus Burke and sophomore receiver Thai Bowman.

Gators CB Devin Moore questionable
The other players new to the injury report are sophomore cornerback Devin Moore (illness) freshman tight end Tony Livingston (upper body) and redshirt junior linebacker Ja’Markis Weston (upper body), who has been ruled out.
Moore and Livingston are both listed as questionable.
“He’s got strep. You know, pretty significant. Yeah, abscess,” Napier said of Moore. “You know, some just medical, hasn’t been able to practice. I mean look, I mean this is today. We’ll see. But typically, guys for us that don’t practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, you know, we declare them out.”
In total, seven Gators are questionable for McNeese with Weston out. One player no longer on the injury report is sophomore defensive tackle Chris McClellan. He was questionable against Utah with a lower body injury but played in the game.
