Florida Athletics sets all-time record for GPA for Spring 2023 Semester
Florida Gators athletics set an all-time semester GPA high for Gator student-athletes, earning an overall grade point average of 3.33 during the 2023 spring semester.
Not only did Gator student-athletes excel in the classroom, but they also made a difference in the greater Gainesville area. 284 student-athletes across all 21 sports accumulated 3,158 community service hours from 178 opportunities for 53 organizations in the Gainesville community.
Earlier this month, the Gators APR scores were released, returning amazing results, including perfect 1,000 scores from gymnastics and women’s volleyball. The football team exceeded the NCAA average APR of 968, scoring 977.
Earlier this month, 62 student-athletes received their UF degrees or certificates following the completion of the spring semester. Nine student-athletes completed their master’s or doctorate degrees as well.
77% of UF student-athletes, a new record, earned a 3.0 or better than GPA.
185 Gators appear on Southeastern Conference Fall or Winter Academic Honor Rolls, with the first-year and spring semesters yet to be announced.

Last fall, Graduation Success Rates (GSR) showed that UF saw 94% of its student-athletes graduate with a degree.
Florida Football stands out, sets records
One reason Billy Napier was brought to Gainesville was to turn around the culture, and now the football team is setting records in the classroom, along with the rest of the athletic program.
The Florida Gators football team has set a new record for Team GPA for the spring semester, recording a 3.30 GPA with nine Gators reporting perfect 4.0s. 85 Gators reported 3.0s or higher, showing off how locked in the team is on their academics.
Last year, 62 Florida Football players were named to 2022 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Across Florida athletics, the football program was one of 17 teams to record over a 3.0 GPA.
