Florida commits get back on the high school football field

After a week of cancelations due to Hurricane Ian, many Florida football commits had their games rescheduled or outright canceled. This week, the 2023 class is back on the field.

The matchups for Florida commits

A matchup for two 4-2 teams occurs in Alabama, as four-star defensive line commit Kelby Collins and his Gardendale team takes on Minor. 

Four-star defensive line commit Kamran James and his Olympia Titans fell to Apopka 38-23 on Thursday night. 

5-0 Trinity Christian Academy and four-star running back commit Treyaun Webb travel to Riverside on Friday. 

2-3 Columbia travels to 1-4 Orange Park as Jaden Robinson and his Tigers face off against the Orange Park Raiders and UF offensive line target Roderick Kearney

The Buchholz Bobcats faced off against the Gainesville Hurricanes on Thursday night, as four-star defensive line commit Gavin Hill and three-star commit Creed Whittemore led the Bobcats to a 49-0 win. 

1-5 Nease and UF quarterback commit Marcus Stokes travel to 3-3 St. Augustine. 

West Orange and four-star safety commit Jordan Castell are on bye.

2-4 Upson-Lee and four-star Florida EDGE commit T.J. Searcy travel to 2-4 Pike County.

3-2 Osceola and four-star defensive back commit Ja’Keem Jackson take on 3-3 Northeast. 

4-1 Rockledge and three-star offensive line commit Bryce Lovett travels to 3-1 Carrollwood Day.

3-3 Lakewood, home to four-star EDGE commit Isaiah Nixon, travels to 3-2 Southridge.  

5-0 Bartram Trail and four-star cornerback Sharif Denson take on 3-1 Fleming Island at home. 

In a big time matchup in Miami, 3-2 Northwestern and four-star wide receiver Andy Jean take on undefeated Central. 

IMG Academy and three-star Florida commit Knijeah Harris take on St. Thomas More. 

Thursday night, three-star wide receiver Tyree Patterson and Eustis Panthers fell to Merritt Island 45-35.

Boone High is on bye this week, giving four-star wide receiver Aidan Mizell some extra recovery time.
