Florida Gators' Alex Fudge reportedly agrees to two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Gators forward Alex Fudge has agreed to a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The final two-way spot was reportedly vacated after Cole Swider was waived, allowing Fudge to be signed on Wednesday afternoon.
Fudge’s agent, Shayaun Saee of One Legacy Sports, informed ESPN of the deal.
During NBA Summer League, the 6-foot-9 Fudge appeared in six games for the Lakers, averaging just 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds on 33.3 percent shooting. He also averaged one block per game and was playing on a Exhibit 10 contract after previously going undrafted.
And although Fudge averaged only 11.2 minutes per game, the Lakers see something in the former top-100 recruit. He is expected to spend next season in the NBA G League.

Although he was a highly-regarded prospect coming out of Jacksonville, Fudge surprised many when he declared for the NBA Draft. He spent just one season at Florida after playing his freshman season at LSU.

This past season, Fudge started in 11 of 32 games played and averaged 5.8 points and 4.5 rebounds. He averaged 19.4 minutes per game but suffered a head injury that put a dent into his season.
“Alex has been really good for us,” Gators coach Todd Golden said of Fudge after his injury. “Obviously, we’re not going to get him back out there until he’s ready, both from a health standpoint most importantly and then helping us win, equally as important. And obviously it was a challenge (without him) because he’s played a lot for us, been doing really well.”
Fudge’s former teammate in Gainesville, Colin Castleton, also signed a two-way contract with Los Angeles after going undrafted.
