Florida Gators altering 2025 schedule, opponent for season opener
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators have made a change to their non-conference schedule for the 2025 season. UF will play host to Long Island University in the opener, Gators Online has confirmed.
The FCS Sharks are replacing Florida A&M as one of the Gators’ non-conference opponents. Florida was scheduled to face the Rattlers next season on Oct. 11, but that game will no longer take place.
In addition to Long Island University, a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), UF’s other non-conference opponents will be South Florida (Sept. 6), Miami (Sept. 20) and FSU (Nov. 29).
Florida is hosting Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas next year for its three SEC home games. The Gators also will be the home team against Georgia in Jacksonville.
