GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will host the team’s annual homecoming game this season against Mississippi State on Oct. 18, the school announced on Monday. UF hasn’t the Bulldogs in Gainesville in two decades.

Florida has a 73-26-2 record in homecoming games all-time, including a 31-5 mark since 1989. The Gators beat Kentucky, 48-20, last season. UF homecoming was first celebrated in 1916.

Mississippi State returns to Gainesville for the first time in 15 years. First-year MSU coach Dan Mullen upset his future team and his former boss, Urban Meyer, with a 10-7 win over Florida in 2010.

The Gators beat the Bulldogs last season in Starkville, 45-28, and have won four of their last five games in the series, with their last win in Gainesville coming in 2005 (35-9).

More information on homecoming festivities and a complete slate of game designations for the 2025 season will be announced at a later time.

2025 opponents for Gators

The Gators open the season in The Swamp on Aug. 30 against Long Island University, a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). UF’s other non-conference opponents will be South Florida (Sept. 6), Miami (Sept. 20) and FSU (Nov. 29).

Florida is hosting Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas next year for its three SEC home games. The Gators also will be the home team against Georgia in Jacksonville.

Florida’s SEC road games will be trips to Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. The Gators will have open dates on Sept. 27 before Texas and Oct. 25 before Georgia.
