Another game has been added to the 2024-25 non-conference schedule for the Florida Gators basketball team. UF and Arizona State are finalizing an agreement to meet each other on Dec. 14 at the State Farm Center in Atlanta, Gators Online has confirmed.

The news was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. This marks the sixth non-conference matchup for the Gators next season.

Florida has faced the Sun Devils twice in school history, beating them both times. The two teams last met in the 2008 NIT quarterfinals, with the Gators defeating top-seeded Arizona State at home with a convincing 70-57 win.

Arizona State finished 2023-24 with a 14-18 record. The Sun Devils suffered a blowout 90-57 loss to Utah in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, their final game of the season. Despite ASU’s underwhelming year, the team has had a promising offseason.

Head coach Bobby Hurley signed in the No. 7 class in the 2024 recruiting cycle, per On3 Industry Rankings. The group includes four-star recruits Amier Ali and Joson Sanon, along with five-star Jayden Quaintance, who was initially committed to Kentucky.

Additionally, the Sun Devils added five players via the transfer portal this offseason, headlined by former Ole Miss guard Austin Nunez. Arizona State is expected to take a significant step forward from last season and make waves in its first year in the Big 12.
