Florida Gators baseball has five named to top-100 sophomores list
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five Florida Gators baseball standouts were honored as top-100 sophomores in college baseball by Perfect Game this week in left-handed pitcher Case Fisher infielder Cade Kurland infielder Colby Shelton, catcher Brody Donay and catcher Luke Heyman.
After churning out a 6-0 record and 3.10 ERA as a freshman, Fisher highlights the group as the No. 11 sophomore in the country. Fisher is looking to transition into the weekend rotation after pitching midweek and out of the bullpen in 2023. He is followed by Freshman All-Americans Kurland (No. 16) and Shelton (No. 30), who figure to comprise one of the top middle-infield duos in the sport. Donay (No. 45) and Heyman (No. 82) close out the contingent, giving the Gators at least two premier options at the catching position.
Florida is one of three schools in the nation (LSU, Ole Miss) with at least five top-100 sophomores.
