Florida outside linebacker Chief Borders entering the transfer portal
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators outside linebacker Chief Borders has announced he is entering the transfer portal.
Borders appeared in all 12 games this season primarily in a special teams role, recording two tackles. The redshirt freshman will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
Borders appeared in four games as a true freshman and earned a redshirt in 2021. He registered his first career tackle against UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl.
Borders is the third outside linebacker the Gators have lost, along with Brenton Cox Jr. and David Reese. They will return Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr., Lloyd Summerall III and Jack Pyburn at the position.
