GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators cornerback Jaydon Hill will enter the transfer portal as a graduate. Hill has one more year of college eligibility remaining and will look to finish his career outside of Gainesville.

Hill enrolled at the University of Florida in the spring of 2019 and played in 10 games as a true freshman. As a true sophomore in 2020 Hill appeared in all 12 games for the Gators, making five starts, including UF’s Orange Bowl win over Virginia. Hill finished the season with 14 tackles (nine solo, five assisted), while also notching seven pass break ups, ranking second amongst Gators defenders.

Hill missed the 2021 season after tearing his ACL. The athletic defensive back had several setbacks throughout his recovery, including another surgery that Hill feared would cost him the 2022 season. The setback caused him to miss the first month of the 2022 season but he was able to come back and play in week five against Eastern Washington. Hill made his first start since 2020 the following week when the Gators hosted Missouri.

Hill came up with his first career interceptions against Missouri, including a pick-six in the opening quarter. On third-and-6 from the Tigers 44, he stepped in front of Brady Cook’s pass and took it to the house for a 49-yard touchdown return to put the Gators up 10-0. It was Hill’s first pick-six since his junior year of high school in 2017.

Hill made the move from outside cornerback to nickel in 2023 and was one of the Gators’ best defensive backs.
