Florida outside linebacker David Reese entering the transfer portal
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators outside linebacker David Reese has announced he is entering the transfer portal.
Reese appeared in all 12 games this season, recording a tackle against Utah and another at Tennessee. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to even play the game of football,” David Reese wrote on his Twitter account. “On top of that, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout these past few years, to the coaches and staff at UF. Thank you for all of the opportunity and continuous support for these past four years. With that being said, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.”

Reese made no appearances last year and played in five games in 2020 before missing the rest of the season due to injury. He also did not receive any game action in 2019 due to injury and earned a redshirt as a true freshman after appearing in two games.
Reese finishes his UF career with 15 tackles in 19 games played. He had been behind former starter Brenton Cox Jr. and was then passed on the depth chart by Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. The Gators have three other players at the position, including Lloyd Summerall III.
