GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators defensive lineman Caleb Banks is returning to school for his senior season, Gators Online can confirm. Banks was considered UF’s top underclassmen prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Banks had breakout performances in the final two SEC wins over LSU and Ole Miss, earning SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week against the Rebels.

He wreaked havoc against the Tigers with seven QB pressures, tied for the most among all DTs in Week 12, and received his highest PFF grade of the season (77.4). He made three tackles (two solo), a five-yard sack and forced and recovered a fumble on a career-high 64 snaps.

“I think it was really big for us. Like, we needed it, obviously. We really, really needed to win. But I knew, like, how we were practicing, we were gonna win,” Banks said after the LSU game. “The end of practice (Tuesday), the defense was like real hype. It was really competitive with the offense and defense, and we were going at it. But defense won twice this week, actually. It was just, we had a lot of momentum. I’m pretty sure we all knew that was going to lead to the game, so we just had to keep it going.”

Banks followed up that performance with seven QB pressures again vs. the Rebels, the most among all defensive tackles in Week 13. He recorded career highs in tackles-for-loss (3.5) and sacks (2.5) and a career-high 66 snaps played while also notching four tackles (three solo) and a pass breakup.

Banks finished the regular season with 10 starts, 21 tackles (10 solo) including seven tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a recovered fumble in 12 games played. Banks has made 21 starts in 24 appearances at Florida, totaling 40 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and 5.5 sacks.
