GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators dropped again in the latest Associated Press Poll on Monday after splitting their two conferences games last week.

UF fell from No. 3 to No. 5 in the new AP Top 25, getting jumped by Houston and Tennessee. The Gators and Vols beat each other at home this season.

Florida had its six-game winning streak snapped last Tuesday in an 88-83 loss at Georgia but responded Saturday with an 89-70 win over Texas A&M.

“We have a chance to go into Tuscaloosa on Wednesday and if we win that game, then we’re in the driver’s seat to get second place (in the SEC). So, we have a lot on the line left. We got a lot we’re still playing for,” UF coach Todd Golden said.

“We’re still playing for a 1 seed. Wednesday will impact that a lot. We’re still playing for the double bye. I heard Missouri lost. They have six. So, if we get one more win and then we get the double bye. So, let’s go. One more win.”

The Florida Gators (25-4, 12-4 SEC) travel to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday to face No. 7 Alabama. Tip is at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN 2.

The Crimson Tide (23-6, 12-4 SEC) lost at No. 5 Tennessee, 79-76, on Saturday but have two wins over Kentucky and Mississippi State.
