GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators fell in the latest Associated Press Poll following their first loss of the season, but they remain a top-10 team.

UF (13-1) dropped two spots to No. 8 in the AP Top 25 on Monday and also moved down three spots to No. 8 in the new USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Gators suffered a 106-100 loss on Saturday in their SEC opener at Kentucky (12-2), which moved up four spots in the new AP poll to No. 6.

Florida must regroup for its SEC home opener Tuesday against Tennessee (14-0). The top-ranked Vols defeated Arkansas on Saturday, 76-52.

“Getting Tennessee at home, awesome opportunity. I think our whole program is really excited for it,” UF coach Todd Golden said on Monday. “We just got to take advantage of the opportunity of having them in here. And yes, they’re a very good team.

“I don’t think there’s a ton of difference in terms of the quality from Tennessee to Kentucky, necessarily, or from us to Kentucky to Tennessee. I think we’re all pretty close, a couple points over 100 possessions. So, I’m just looking forward to having No. 1 in here tomorrow night.”

Here’s the latest AP poll.
