Florida Gators flip 4-star OL Tavaris Dice from Auburn
The Florida Gators have flipped 4-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice from Auburn in a major recruiting win for Billy Napier’s program. Dice, listed at 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds, is the No. 192 overall prospect in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings. He is capable of playing multiple spots along the offensive line.
Dice had been committed to Auburn since March 14.
He visited the Gators on Nov. 16 with family and watched them beat LSU in The Swamp, then stayed overnight to meet with the coaching staff the following day. Dice previously was in Gainesville on Week 1 for the Miami game. Additionally, he visited the Gators multiple times earlier this year. That included an official in June.
Prior to Dice’s pledge, the Gators had only two offensive linemen on the 2025 commitment list. Now, they’ve added one of the very best in the South. Dice is the No. 26 senior in talent-rich Georgia. (full commitment list HERE)

Back in May, it was clear Dice was a priority to the Florida staff.
“Florida told me a little while back when I committed that they would fight until the end and do whatever it takes,” Dice said at the time.

Even though the Gators looked bad in a loss to the Hurricanes with Dice in the stands on Aug. 31, Dice wasn’t ready to throw dirt on Florida’s season.
“I’ll give it some time to see what’s up, but at the same time, every team, obviously the best teams might not lose, but most teams have ups and downs,” Dice said. “Florida, they’re still building. That’s what I can say. They’re still building. They got Coach (Billy) Napier not too long ago, and all these rumors he won’t be there, nobody knows really, except for the people on this campus. At the same time, I still love Florida the same way because they show me the same love. I might have a bad game. They contact me and tell me that they might have watched my film, and they may have evaluated me and stuff. Things like that, little stuff like, it means a lot.”
And, he added this: “It’s really just Florida that’s the one really still fighting” to flip him.
Now, Napier and Co. have done just that.
Napier’s program is red hot on the recruiting trail following wins over LSU and Ole Miss in The Swamp. And the addition of Dice no doubt is one of the Gators’ most significant pickups to date.
