Florida Gators football can be featured in EA Sports college football game
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — You will have the chance to play as your favorite Florida Gators football player when the new EA Sports college football game releases. The game is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2024, ending a 10-year drought of a game that was wildly popular among college football fans for decades.
There were several reports on Wednesday about that EA has contracted OneTeam Partners to facilitate college athletes’ likeness for the upcoming game.ESPN’s Michael Rothstein first reported that news this morning with sources also confirming it to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Gators Online had previously reported that members of the EA Sports team had been on campus to tour the facilities and have been exchanging digital assets featuring school traditions with EA to feature in the game.

It was that same ESPN report that noted 120 FBS schools have said they’re in for the game, including Florida. All 10 FBS conferences and College Football Playoff have also agreed to be in the game, according to ESPN’s reporting.
“We’ve wanted to feature collegiate athletes in a meaningful way from the start of our journey to bring an EA SPORTS college football experience back to our fans,” EA Sports said Wednesday in a statement. “We’re excited to have an agreement in place with OneTeam Partners that will enable us to include the names and likenesses of eligible collegiate football athletes at NCAA Division 1 Football Subdivision schools who opt-in to being featured in EA SPORTS College Football.”

Florida Gators players can opt into being in EA Sports College Football video game
The University of Florida won’t control which players will be in the game. That will be up to each individual. From On3’s Pete Nakos’ reporting:
“A source involved in the licensing bidding for the rights to the game told On3 on Wednesday morning that EA has contracted OneTeam Partners to facilitate college athletes’ likeness. ESPN was the first to report the news. Details of the agreements or execution plan appear to still be murky. The agreement has not been finalized yet. But the source indicated the cash pool was in the $5 million neighborhood, which would pay out to $500 per player.”
One Team would allow any FBS player at a school that has opted into being included in the game to sign their rights to use their name, image, and likeness in the video game for some sort of compensation. Players can also opt out of being included in the game.
The EA Sports NCAA Football brand was huge until the game was discontinued after NCAA Football 14. Being included in the game is a dream for players and one that will come true next summer.
