Florida Gators' game against Kentucky officially SOLD OUT
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Swamp was rocking for the Florida Gators‘ 29-26 win over Utah. The record season-opening crowd of 90,799 had so much fun that they decided to run it back.
For the second weekend in a row, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is SOLD OUT. It is the third consecutive sell-out, dating back to 2021’s season finale against Florida State.
“We need to express our gratitude to our fans for showing up and creating a really special environment. To have the largest opening day crowd in the history of the school, I think, is pretty remarkable,” Napier said on Monday. “To think about what we kind of set out in the very beginning to create here, for them to do their part — we talk about it being a team effort. They were a significant factor in the game and created issues for the opponent.”
The Gators and the Wildcats will meet for the 73rd all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1917. Florida leads the series 53-19 and has won 20 of its last 21 home matchups against Kentucky in The Swamp.

Florida had won 31-straight games against Kentucky prior to splitting the last four contests. Kentucky took last year’s game 20-13. Their fans — who hadn’t seen a win over the Gators in Lexington since November 11, 1986 — stormed the field after the game.
The Gators haven’t forgotten that.
“Of course you take that personally. Of course, you’re gonna take that personally. But you’ve got to understand, you’ve got to guide that motivation and those emotions in the right direction,” defensive lineman Tyreak Sapp said. “You can’t be all over the place, you’ve got to have those things in the right spot. Because if you don’t, you’re gonna go out there and you’re gonna play everywhere. Even though your intensity is high, it doesn’t matter. You have to guide that energy in the right direction.”
Last week, the Gators announced that their game against the LSU Tigers was also sold out.
