Florida Gators guard Kajus Kublickas entering transfer portal

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — One of the reserves from the Florida Gators’ national championship team is the on the move. Sophomore guard Kajus Kublickas is expected to enter the transfer portal.
Jeff Goodman first reported the news.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Kublickas played sparingly in a UF backcourt that featured Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard and Denzel Aberdeen the past two seasons and added Alijah Martin and Urban Klavzar last year.
Kublickas played in nine games at UF as a freshman and made six appearances in 2024-25, scoring two points against South Carolina and Stetson. He logged four rebounds and two assists against the Hatters as well.
Kublickas participated in the FIBA U20 EuroBasket last summer, representing his home country Lithuania at the event in Gdynia, Poland. He has competed internationally each of the previous three summers, also helping Lithuania to an eighth-place finish in FIBA’s 2023 U20 European Championship and seventh place at the 2022 U18 European Championship.
“I think depth is something that we have this year,” UF coach Todd Golden said of his team prior to the 2024-25 season opener, mentioning Kublickas. “Guys like Kajus now being a second-year player. I feel better about his ability to help us in games.”

With the departure of Kublickas, the Gators have nine returning scholarship players along with two incoming freshmen in CJ Ingram and Alex Lloyd. Florida could potentially add four more players to the roster with the scholarship limit increasing from 13 to 15 for the 2025-2026 season.
