GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators are just days away from traveling to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. On Wednesday, Florida released its first availability report for the game, and sophomore receiver Eugene Wilson was not on it.

Wilson has missed Florida’s last three games with a knee injury. He was able to go through a complete warmup prior to the Gators’ win over UCF but did not suit up for the contest. After the game, Napier said this of Wilson.

“I think we’re just sticking to the protocol, the medical side, the sports science side there. Definitely looked great in pre-game. There was a part of me that said man, that joker looks like he’s ready to go, but a little bit of asymmetry there, but we anticipate him being available.”

In his absence, the Gators have turned to Aidan Mizell — who also missed the UCF game but was not on the injury report this week — and freshman Tank Hawkins.

“We have the ability to in formation plays to get the primary guys in position, much like we’ve done the past,” Napier said. “We’ll take what we have each week and we’ll formation it and try to make those guys a primary and secondary.”

The Gators will, once again, be without running backs Treyaun Webb and KD Daniels, who both missed the UCF game. Receiver Marcus Burke will also miss the game, along with offensive lineman Devon Manuel, tight end Tony Livingston, receiver TJ Abrams, and receiver Marcus Burke.

The four pre-game designations are:

  • Out (i.e., will not play/0% chance to play);
  • Doubtful (i.e., unlikely to play/25% chance to play);
  • Questionable (i.e., uncertain to play/50% chance to play); or
  • Probable (i.e., probable to play/75% chance to play).

Appearing on the list for the first time is starting left tackle Austin Barber. The redshirt junior played every snap against the UCF Knights. Defensive tackle Joey Slackman, as well as safeties Asa Turner, DJ Douglas, and Bryce Thornton, are all listed as questionable.
