Florida Gators land commitment from IOL G'Nivre Carr

Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy 3-star IOL G’Nivre Carr has long been a top target for the Florida Gators this cycle. As an Ocala native, the big interior lineman is a prospect that we’ve felt would be tough to get away from UF. He’s visited Florida countless times, but his most recent visit, which was an official visit, was what sealed the deal. Coming out of that trip, Carr pulled the trigger and committed to the Florida Gators.
G’Nivre Carr feels Florida can best develop him
When asked what G’Nivre Carr is looking for in his future home, he has constantly mentioned development as the key factor. The Gators have shown that aspect to Carr better than anyone during conversations with assistant offensive line coach John Decoster.
“We always have something to talk about, whether it’s technique or what I can do to get better,” Carr told Gators Online. “I’m always sending him my practice film to see what I’m doing wrong. So when I get there, it won’t be surprising that he’s coaching me that way. Or it won’t be a disappointment, thinking I don’t know how to take his coaching.”
The local impact
Before moving to IMG Academy last year, Carr resided in Ocala. Being right down the road from Gainesville, and growing up in a pro-UF household has been a regular pitch the Florida Gators have made.
“Stay home,” he’s said of UF’s pitch. “That’s the main thing. Gainesville is 30 minutes away from my house. Being home, it’s nothing like it. I’m comfortable there. I know my way around. I don’t need a recruiter to try and show me around because I’ve been there many times. I know it in and out.”

Not only does G’Nivre Carr love Florida, but his mother has been vocal about her preference of her son playing close to home.
“She loves (visiting Florida),” he said. “She’s from Gainesville, she’s a Gator fan, you know what I’m saying? So it runs in the blood. My whole family is Gator.”
G’Nivre Carr is commitment No. 3 for the Florida Gators
With G’Nivre Carr in the fold, the Florida Gators now sit with three verbal commitments in the 2026 class. He joins Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit 4-star quarterback Will Griffin and Cleveland (OH) Glenville 3-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez.
The On3 Industry, a weighted average of the four major recruiting services, ranks G’Nivre Carr as the nation’s No. 469 Overall player.
