Florida Gators lose off-field staffer to Miami Hurricanes
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators running backs analyst Benedick Hyppolite has accepted a job in the same role with the Miami Hurricanes. On3’s Matt Zenitz was the first to report the news.
A native of Miami, Hyppolite is returning home. Hyppolite came to Florida after his last stop at the University of Miami where he served as a graduate assistant (2020-2022) and wide receivers analyst (2022). Prior to Miami, he was the offensive coordinator for Florida Memorial University for the 2019 season.
Before making his way up the coaching ranks, Hyppolite was a wide receiver coach at Hallandale High School (2008-2009), Miami Edison (2009-2010) and Miami Booker T. Washington (2010-2013). He was later hired as the offensive coordinator for Miami Edison during the 2014 season and Miami Booker T Washington during 2015.
Hyppolite has head coaching experience as both the head coach for Hallandale High School (2016) and Miami Carol City High School from 2017-2019. Additionally, he served as a wide receivers coach during the 2019 Army All-American Bowl. While at Miami Carol City High School, he led the Chiefs to an 8-4 record during the 2017-2018 season and a 12-1 record in 2019 to become district champions. He also served as the school’s head track and field coach in 2019 where he coached the team to a state record in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:11.50.

During his time coaching at Booker T. Washington, Hyppolite coached the Tornadoes to multiple accolades including three state championships (2011, 2012, and 2015), and led them to a national championship title in 2013.
Gators running backs room
Hyppolite spent the 2022 season working under Jabbar Juluke with the Florida running backs. The Gators duo of Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore and freshman respectively. The pair returns this year as one of the most established running back duos in the Southeastern Conference.
Florida was also able to add Tulane graduate transfer, Cam Carroll.
“He’s got athletic ability, can move around well. Smart. He’s been playing football for half a decade,” Juluke said of Carroll. “So he understands the game, he’s just got to try to get the two terminologies across in his head right now. So, he’s got to get that out of the way, just focus on what we’re doing and he should be able to help us somewhere down the line.”
