GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators moved up one spot in the latest Associated Press Poll on Monday after dropping in the rankings the last two weeks.

The Gators jumped from No. 5 to No. 4 in the new AP Top 25 after winning their second-straight top-15 matchup Wednesday and the regular season finale Saturday.

Florida beat No. 7 Alabama 99-94 in Tuscaloosa — its fourth victory over a ranked team this season — and then routed Ole Miss 90-71 in Gainesville on Senior Night.

“Just incredibly proud of our program. Obviously a great regular season, 27 wins. To go 14-4 in this league and to finish the regular season the way we did, just can’t say enough about the job that our players did this year and that my staff was able to do from start to finish,” UF coach Todd Golden said.

“I want them to be very proud of the effort and the success that we’ve had to this point. But we have a lot of work left to do and a lot of things left to still accomplish, and we’ll get back together Monday, have a great week of practice and get ready to play next Friday in Nashville.”

Up next for the Florida Gators (27-4, 14-4 SEC) in the SEC Tournament. With the No. 2 seed, UF has a double bye and will play Friday at 7 p.m. against LSU, Mississippi State or Missouri.
