Despite losing a second signal caller this spring, Florida coach Billy Napier will not be in the market for a transfer quarterback this offseason.

Prior to his speech Thursday night in Jacksonville, Napier said he doesn’t anticipate targeting another QB with Carlos Del Rio-Wilson transferring.

“No, I think we anticipated some attrition to be quite honest,” Napier said. “You know, most years you’re going to carry around four scholarship players, potentially five. I think that we took Jack Miller with some anticipated attrition. I think we, just based off of our research, our knowledge of the situation, certainly went out and signed Max [Brown] as well.”

Brown enrolls this summer and will give the Gators four scholarship quarterbacks with Anthony Richardson, Miller and Jalen Kitna. Del Rio-Wilson is the second QB to leave the room after the departure of Emory Jones.

“Carlos was first-class for us,” Napier said. “I can’t compliment him enough. His work ethic. He was a good teammate. He’s done a really good job representing himself, his family, since he’s been at the University of Florida. Nothing but good things to say about him.”
