Florida Gators RB Trevor Etienne named to Paul Hornung Award watch list
Florida Gators running back Trevor Etienne is getting some national attention heading into Year 2 following a stellar freshman season.
Thursday, he was named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to college football’s most versatile player.
Etienne, a sophomore from Jennings (La.), is considered to be one of the top young running backs in the game.
He had 118 carries for 719 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. Additionally, he caught nine passes for 66 yards. And, he returned 17 kickoffs for 421 yards with a long of 48 yards.
He was the SEC freshman of the week in Week 11 and was named to the SEC’s all-freshman squad.
