Florida Gators release depth chart for game at South Carolina
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators are 4-2 (2-1 SEC) and will travel to Columbia, South Carolina this Saturday to take on the Gamecocks (3-1 / 1-2 SEC). The Gators are looking for their first road win of the season and have a chance to go into the bye week 5-2. The Gamecocks are coming off of a bye week and have been great coming off of the bye in recent years. Since 2009, South Carolina is 14-2 following an off week — including a 2-0 mark under coach Shane Beamer.
“South Carolina is a team that we have tremendous respect for Shane Beamer — (he) is an outstanding coach and motivator and always has his team ready to be competitive and play. They play with good effort. I do think he’s got a tough group and they cause problems for every team that they’ve played,” Florida head coach Billy Napier said on Wednesday.
“I think Williams-Brice is one of the tougher venues, better venues in the country, having played there many times in the past. And, look, we’re an underdog on the road in the SEC. And this is an area on our team where we need to accept the challenge and take the next step by playing well and winning a game on the road.”
