Florida Gators revert uniform schedule for 2024 season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators have released their uniform schedule for the 2024 season. There’s one surprise combination on there, and also a notable omission.
When UF coach Billy Napier revealed the Gators were wearing all black uniforms for the first time in 2023, he added that they would do it once a year every season.
However, that plan has been axed. Florida doesn’t have black uniforms on its 2024 schedule released Thursday. Gators Online confirmed the team will not wear them this year.
Napier previously said the black unforms would be worn for the next to last home game around Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11. Florida hosts rival LSU on Nov. 16.
The Gators were expected to wear black unis again for the ‘Saluting Those Who Serve’ game vs. LSU, but it will be blue jerseys and blue pants instead with their orange helmet.
The Gators will sport their traditional home uniforms (orange helmet, blue jersey, white pants) in six games this season, including the season opener vs Miami and their first SEC road trip at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are having a white-out game against Florida on Sept. 21.
In addition to blue jerseys and blue pants vs. LSU, the Gators will wear orange pants with their orange helmet and blue tops against Samford on Sept. 7. It’s the first time they’ve won that uniform combination since 2016 against North Texas.
In the other games away from The Swamp this year, Florida will white jerseys and blue pants at Tennessee and Texas, as well as against Georgia, before closing out the regular season in white jerseys and white pants at Florida State.
