GAINESVILLE, Fla. — It’s talking season and the Florida Gators have their schedule set for 2023 SEC Media Days. Billy Napier and select Florida players will hit the stage in Nashville, as the SEC hosts its Media Days in the Music City for the first time ever.

Florida’s return to SEC Media Days, scheduled for July 17-20 at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Nashville, will be on Wednesday, the third day of the annual four-day pre-season media tour for the SEC’s 14 member schools.

The Gators will share the day with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Kentucky Wildcats. The day is split up with two teams going through the media carwash in the morning and two teams in the afternoon. A more detailed schedule along with TV schedule will be released at a later date.

In his opening statement in 2022, before taking questions from hundreds of media members gathered from across the conference, Napier briefly detailed the challenges that awaited on Florida’s schedule, from Utah to the various conference opponents.

“We’ve got a very challenging schedule, obviously, in the SEC East to go along with LSU and A&M as the crossover West opponents. Top 10 Pac-12 champ Utah comes to town for the home opener. We’re on the road at Florida State on a Friday night,” he said. “It’s a six-day turnaround. Then we play South Florida and Eastern Washington in non-conference play as well.”

This year, Napier will have a different agenda. The Gators have a brand new roster with more than 35 scholarship players from the 2022 roster having departed Gainesville this offseason. Florida underperformed on the field in Napier’s first season and the schedule doesn’t get any easier in 2023.
