GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Eighteen Florida Gators will play their final game in The Swamp this Saturday when Florida hosts South Carolina.

“Certainly always an emotional time for those players, in particular. So I think the good thing I see from our players is we’ve got a group that wants to send this group out the right way,” Billy Napier said on Monday.

This senior class has been through a lot. Trey Dean, for instance, was recruited first by Jim McElwain’s staff. He committed to Dan Mullen and has had a number of different position coaches. Ventrell Miller enrolled in 2017 and was on McElwain’s last team at Florida.

Members of this year’s class of seniors contributed in the dominating performance against Michigan at the 2018 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in addition to being part of the 2020 SEC Eastern Division championship team.

“The senior class means a lot. Every last one of them,” Antwaun Powell-Randall said. “They touched me every way. Coming in, it was no problem. They all welcomed me in. Ventrell, (indiscernible), all those guys, wonderful guys.

The Gators currently sit at 5-4 (2-4 SEC) and can gain bowl eligibility with a win this weekend. South Carolina already has gained bowl eligibility with a 6-3 (3-3) SEC) record.

Florida and South Carolina will play this weekend at 4:00 pm on SEC Network+. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early, as senior day ceremonies will begin prior to the game.
