Florida Gators transfer portal breakdown: Who left and who joined
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The inaugural NCAA transfer portal window has closed. The 45-day period for players to enter their names into the portal, allowing other schools to contact them, closed on January 18. How did the Florida Gators do?
Beginning Dec. 5, football players were allowed to enter the portal for 45 days in a new designated window by the NCAA. Players that remain in the transfer portal can still be recruited and commit to schools, the closing of the window just prohibits players from entering the transfer portal. There will be a second window where players can also enter the portal from May 1 to May 15.

As of January 19, the Gators have added seven players through the portal, while they have had 23 players enter the transfer portal. That number includes safety Mordecai McDaniel, who was dismissed from the team prior to the 2022 football season. McDaniel has been included in the list because Florida was the last school he played for and was enrolled at prior to entering the transfer portal.
In total, there have been 36 total roster departures through Jan. 16. That includes four super seniors (Amari Burney, Trey Dean III, Ventrell Miller and Jordan Pouncey) and six current Gators who have declared for the draft.
Here is the complete list of Gators who transferred in and out during this first 45-day window.
