Florida Gators vs. Texas Longhorns betting lines, over/under
For the second week in a row, the Florida Gators will be double-digit underdogs vs. a top-10 opponent.
Per betting lines from FanDuel, the No. 6 Texas Longhorns opened as a 20.5-point favorite (-105) over Florida. With Texas being a three-score favorite, the money line for the Longhorns is (-1450) with the Gators’ being at (+810) as the underdog.
The over/under was set at 49.5.
Florida, now 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, lost to Georgia, a 14.5-point favorite, 34-20 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla. The Gators led 10-3 in the second quarter when starting quarterback DJ Lagway left the game with a hamstring injury. He will have an MRI on Sunday and his status moving forward was not immediately clear.
Lagway was replaced Saturday by third-string quarterback Aidan Warner, a preferred walk-on transfer from Yale. He led the offense on two scoring drives and finished with 66 yards and a pick on 7 of 22 passing. Graham Mertz, who previously was Florida’s starting quarterback, was lost for the season after sustaining a torn ACL vs. Tennessee on Oc. 13.

“Hats off to Aidan Warner,” Florida coach Billy Napier said. “Two weeks ago, he started taking real reps with the second unit. For him to be able to go operate today, obviously made some plays, made a handful of mistakes. … He was one of many like him that stepped up for the team.”
Texas, whom the Florida Gators play next, was ranked No. 1 before losing at home to Georgia
Texas, 7-1 and 3-1, was off this weekend. The Longhorns lost to Georgia at home, 30-15, on Oct. 20. The next weekend, they escaped with a 27-24 road win over Vanderbilt.
The Florida Gators are 0-2-1 all time vs. Texas but the teams haven’t played since 1940. They first met 100 years ago in Austin, Texas, and that game ended in a 7-7 draw. The Longhorns joined the SEC this season and will play in Gainesville, Fla., next year.
