GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Netflix announced Wednesday that it is in production on a season-long series that follows the Southeastern Conference during the 2024 season, which will include the Florida Gators.

This series places viewers inside some of college football’s most storied programs in the SEC through unfiltered access to their coaches and players on and off the field: on the buses, in the locker rooms, at the barbershops, around the fire pits, running out of the tunnels and more.

The series will offer an exclusive look at key matchups throughout the season to show the passion and drama of the SEC. That could include Florida’s upset victories in The Swamp over No. 22 LSU and No. 9 Ole Miss to wrap up conference play.

The Gators closed out their 2024 schedule with three-straight victories (LSU, Ole Miss and Florida State) for the first time since the 2019 season and concluded the regular season at 7-5 (4-4 SEC) to secure their first winning record since 2020.

“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said. “Football in the SEC will be presented in a way never seen before through the elite storytelling skills of Box To Box, the content studio that has produced numerous award-winning Netflix docuseries. We are excited about this new delivery of content for SEC fans everywhere.”

The series will follow the entire 2024 season and premiere in the summer of 2025. Box To Box Films is the production company, who also produced Sprint, Full Swing, Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Break Point.

It will be the second time in three years that the Florida football program has been featured in a new Netflix show. The Gators dynasty under Urban Meyer was the subject of the “Swamp Kings” documentary in 2023.

The documentary chronicled the 2006-2009 teams under Meyer, which included two national championships, two SEC titles, a Heisman Trophy winner and an undefeated regular season in that four-year span.
