Florida Gators guard Xaivian Lee has signed a multi-year NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deal with the international shoe brand Serious Player Only.

This agreement, according to Nick DePaula, makes Lee the first college athlete to secure a signature shoe deal with an international brand. As part of the deal, Lee will receive a player edition shoe and apparel this season, with his own signature shoe set to launch in 2026.

Lee, a transfer from Princeton, will play a significant role in Florida’s backcourt next season. Over three seasons at Princeton, he averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

Florida head coach Todd Golden praised Lee’s offensive skills, highlighting his shooting, ball handling, and playmaking abilities.

“Yeah, I, I think Xaivian is just, first of all, he’s an elite offensive player. You know, I think that’s the best way I would describe him,. And, just an incredible shooter, has gotten better there every year at Princeton.” Golden previously told reporters.

“Where he’s incredibly elite is his ball handling and his playmaking. He had like a 35% assist rate with a 14% turnover rate last year. And, for the stat nerds like us, you know, to have an assist rate like that and a turnover rate that low says a lot about his ball handling and his playmaking ability.”

This partnership between Lee and Serious Player Only reflects the growing opportunities for college athletes to benefit from NIL deals, allowing them to monetize their personal brands while still in school.
