Florida guard Kyle Lofton withdraws name from NBA Draft
Florida Gators men’s basketball guard Kyle Lofton withdrew his name from the 2022 NBA Draft on Tuesday, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
The graduate transfer announced he would be transferring to Florida from St. Bonaventure on May 13 after entering the transfer portal on April 28. The announcement that he would be withdrawing his name from this year’s NBA Draft was expected, but it is now official.
“We are excited to bring Kyle into our program,” UF head coach Todd Golden said of Lofton. “Kyle has experienced a lot of success both from a team and individual standpoint… makes others around him better and cares only about one thing: winning.”
On3 gave Lofton a four-star, 97-overall rating. He’s the No. 27 overall player and the No. 5 overall point guard in the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-3 guard started for the Bonnies in all four seasons, and he’s expected to be the starting point guard for the Gators in the 2022-23 season. He’s Florida’s fourth addition from the transfer portal this offseason.
Last season, Lofton led the Bonnies with 5.9 assists per game and two steals per game. He averaged 12.8 points while shooting 40.2% from the field.
