Florida loses a major 2025 commitment
On Tuesday evening, the Florida Gators lost a major piece to their recruitment class, as 4-star wide receiver Joshua Moore flipped his commitment to Miami. On3’s Hayes Fawcett first reported the news.
In recent weeks, the On3 top-100 prospect has visited the Hurricanes multiple times, including just two days after they beat Florida in the season opener. He made his way to Gainesville several times too, with the most recent experience having place last Saturday for the UCF game.
However, Moore had been one of Florida commits we were monitoring closely. Miami never took its foot off the gas after losing out the first time around, while Florida State and others never backed off either. The nearby Hurricanes were always considered the strongest threat through.
Now, it’s official, as the Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward star changed his commitment moments ago.

The Gators still have top commitments at wide receiver
According to the On300 rankings, Joshua Moore is the No. 8 wide receiver and No. 41 prospect overall. He was the highest-ranked commit in those On3 rankings.
With Moore no longer in the class, Florida holds commitments from 12 seniors. Luckily though, two other wide receivers are still in the class in Vernell Brown III and Naeshaun Montgomery. It’s been one of their deeper commitment groups for this cycle, but losing Moore is certainly a stinger.
As of Tuesday evening, Florida has the 29th-ranked recruiting class for the 2025 cycle.
The aforementioned Vernell Brown III is now its highest-ranked commit in the On300 rankings, checking in at No. 43 overall. His overall ranking at No. 36 also leads the way in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
