Florida men’s basketball will be featured on SEC Network Monday night
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men’s basketball team will be featured on SEC Inside. The special airs on SEC Network on Monday at 9:30 p.m.
The show provides viewers with behind-the-scenes access from the Gators’ wins against Mississippi State and Georgia, including coach Todd Golden mic’d up and an exclusive look into the team’s preparation for the UGA game.
Florida defeated MSU 79-70 on Jan. 24 behind a 23-point performance from Will Richard. UF then beat Georgia in overtime, 102-98, after blowing a 21-point lead in the second half. Sophomore center Micah Handlogten had his best game as a Gator against UGA, scoring a career-high 23 points and logging a season-high 17 rebounds.
The pair of wins featured on Monday night’s show were part of a four-game winning streak for the Gators. They now enter their midweek bye on the heels of splitting a pair of Quad 1 road opportunities last week, including a win over No. 10 Kentucky, the program’s first top-10 road victory since 2003.

“It was obviously really big for us,” Golden said of the upset at Rupp Arena. “Just getting over the hump and one of those Quad (1) games was important to us. It just happened to be Kentucky. And obviously, there’s a little more fanfare and a little more recognition about that game because of who they are, what they ranked. And I think Cal wins 92% of his games in that building or something along those lines. But to me, it’s a little bit of a validator in terms of what we’re doing and a great opportunity to build confidence for our group.”
UF had its streak snapped Saturday with a 67-66 loss at Texas A&M.
“I think we’re getting a lot better,” Golden said after the A&M game of his team’s recent play. “Obviously this one stings and this is a tough way to end that stretch, but we’re in a much better place than we were two weeks ago. I feel like our team has a lot more confidence. And coming back home with this bye week, it should be good for us to rest up a little bit and prepare for Auburn next Saturday.”
Florida returns to action Saturday at a sold-out Exactech Arena, where it will face the 16th-ranked Tigers. It marks the fifth top-25 matchup of the season for the Gators, who are 1-3 in the previous four games.
