GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators have one of their best home schedules in years, and The Swamp will be packed for it this season. The slate starts with the opener against No. 19 Miami.

Florida’s rivalry renewed with the Hurricanes will be a sellout crowd at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the Gators Ticket Office announced Thursday. Kickoff is set for Aug. 31 at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

In addition, UF also announced that season tickets have been sold out, marking the most season tickets sold since 2017.

The Miami matchup marks the sixth consecutive sellout for the Florida Gators dating back to last season and the 10th overall under head coach Billy Napier. Four games were sold out in his first season and five last year after the program had just four sellouts in the previous four years (2018-21).

The 2024 opener will mark the Hurricanes’ first trip to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since the 2008 season, when they suffered a decisive 26-3 defeat against the Gators on their run to a national championship.

“It’s a unique year,” Napier said at SEC Media Days regarding the opener against Miami. “I think ultimately when you think about all the P4 teams, each conference represented to some degree, two teams from the ACC and the Big 12, it’s an incredible opportunity, and I think it’s going to be huge.

“Each one of those matchups is critical. We have a ton of respect for each one of those teams and coaches, and it’s part of the schedule that everybody likes to talk about. … You’ve got to have your team ready to play each week. All those teams have got great programs, and it’s a big deal in our state.”
