GAINESVILLE, Fla. — In honor of Saluting Those Who Serve the Florida Gators will have four ROTC members serve as Mr. Two Bits this weekend.

Saturday’s 4 p.m. kickoff against South Carolina (6-3, 3-3) at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will be the final home game of the 2022 season. The four honorary Mr. Two Bits will represent four branches of the Armed Forces.

  • Daniel Tomberg (Army)
  • Jack McBrayer (Marine Corps)
  • Maddie Kuennen (Navy)
  • Megham Kilpatrick (Air Force)

“I was really excited about, but I knew I wasn’t the only one,” Kilpatrick told Chris Harry of FloridaGators.com. “I’m not sure how or why, but they picked me.”

Kilpatrick is a native Floridian, born in Fernandina Beach, but was raised a military brat with her Army father, bouncing around bases in Hawaii and Georgia. The service lifestyle is all she’s ever known, but Kilpatrick didn’t make the ROTC commitment until she and her sister attended an Air Force Academy briefing.

Napier speaks on his and Florida’s commitment to this week

Billy Napier was asked this week about the Gators’ initiative. With Veteran’s Day landing this Friday, schools across the country will be honoring and saluting our service members.

“We’re going to be recognizing military appreciation, first responders,” Napier said. “This is an initiative that will continue in the future. We’ll do a number of things with the team throughout the week relative to inviting people to practice, exposing them to different speakers. Really important to me in terms of creating a level of respect here and a gratitude for some of these things that I really believe we take for granted at times. So , reat week. One that I think we get to celebrate a lot of people who live a life of service. And certainly excited about the last home game, last opportunity to play in front of our fans.”
