No. 8 Florida visits Arkansas on the heels of the Gators’ first regular season win over a No. 1 team in program history Tuesday, as the defense powered UF to a 73-43 blowout win over Tennessee.

The Razorbacks had been a top-25 team through most of the non-conference schedule but dropped their first two games of SEC play at Tennessee (76-52) and against Ole Miss (73-66).

Game notes

* Saturday marks the 26th meeting between Florida and Arkansas. UF leads the all-time series 34-25 with a 27-15 record at home and a 7-10 mark on the road.

* Florida took last season’s meeting in Gainesville but looks to snap a two-game series skid in Fayetteville.

* The Gators last won at Arkansas in a 57-51 defensive battle in 2019 led by 18 points from KeVaughn Allen in his home state.

* The Gators have averaged 93.5 points in their two road games this season, posting 87 in a win at Florida State and 100 in last weekend’s shootout loss at Kentucky.

* UF’s plus-12.9 rebounding margin ranks second nationally (Illinois, +13.3). The Gators have been plus-15 or better six times, plus-20 or better four times. UF outrebounded Tennessee, 56-37.

* Florida’s plus-22.3 scoring margin this season also ranks as the second highest in the nation (Houston, +22.4). Thirteen of the Gators’ 14 wins this season have come by 13 points or more.
