Game notes

* Tuesday marks the 122nd meeting between Florida and Mississippi State. The Gators lead the all-time series 68-53 with a 24-36 mark in Starkville. UF beat the Bulldogs last season in the O’Dome, 79-70.

* Florida visits Mississippi State on the heels of the Gators’ win at top-ranked Auburn on Saturday, UF’s second win vs. No. 1 this season. At No. 3 in both polls, Florida holds its highest ranking since being No. 1 in 2014.

* Florida’s two wins against No. 1 teams in 2024-25 (Auburn and Tennessee) match the two in program history prior to this season.

* Florida is one of three teams, along with Duke and Houston, whose offensive and defensive efficiency both rank in KenPom’s top 10. UF is currently fourth in offensive efficiency and ninth on the defensive side.

* After playing with the same starting lineup for the first 21 games this season, the Gators have had a different starting five each of the past two games as Denzel Aberdeen slid into the lineup while Walter Clayton Jr. (vs. Vanderbilt) and Alijah Martin (at Auburn) each missed a game for the first time this season.

* Alex Condon has posted a double-double in both of Florida’s wins against #1 teams, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday at Auburn. He had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the January rout of Tennessee. He has earned SEC Player of the Week both times, just the eighth Gator to earn the honor multiple times in a season.

* During SEC play, Walter Clayton Jr. has averaged 17.9 points, Alijah Martin 15.4 points and Will Richard 12.2 points, while Alex Condon is adding 10.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in conference play.

* Clayton has made a 3-pointer in 45 consecutive appearances. This season he broke Michael Frazier II’s previous record of 41 straight, set in 2014 and 2015.
