The No. 3 Florida Gators (21-3, 8-3 SEC) hosts South Carolina on Saturday for their second meeting of the regular season.

The Gamecocks (10-14, 0-11 SEC) are winless in conference play this year, including a 70-69 loss against UF on Jan. 22.

Game notes

* Saturday marks the 79th meeting between Florida and South Carolina. The Gators lead the all-time series 49-29 with a 22-10 mark in Gainesville.

* The Gators stole the first matchup in Columbia, as Will Richard’s basket with 4.8 seconds left gave Florida its first lead and the deciding 70-69 margin.

* The Gators are coming off wins at No. 1 Auburn and No. 22 Mississippi State, the first time in program history that Florida had ranked road wins in back-to-back games.

* Denzel Aberdeen has played a huge role in the Gators’ current three-game win streak, averaging 14.3 points per game in his first career starts.

* During SEC play, Walter Clayton Jr. has averaged 18.0 points, Alijah Martin 15.4 points and Will Richard 12.0 points, while Alex Condon is adding 9.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in conference play.

* Clayton has made a 3-pointer in 46 consecutive appearances. This season he broke Michael Frazier II’s previous record of 41 straight, set in 2014 and 2015.
