Former Gators WR Van Jefferson traded to the Atlanta Falcons
Former Florida and Ole Miss wide receiver, Van Jefferson, is on the move for the first time in his NFL career.
According to a report from NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport, the Los Angeles Rams are trading Jefferson to the Atlanta Falcons. That reunites him with former Gators teammate Kyle Pitts.
Per the report, the teams are swapping sixth and seventh-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Through five games this season, Jefferson has hauled in eight catches for 108 yards. He recently had fallen out of the rotation and played just two offensive snaps in the week-five loss to the Eagles.
The Falcons, however, are hoping to receive the 2021 version of Jefferson, or even better.
During that season, Jefferson started all 17 games and hauled in 50 catches for 802 yards and six touchdowns. That was also the year Los Angeles came out on top with a Super LVI Title.

Jefferson, who is in the final year of his contract, was previously reported to have been open to being traded. His agent was working closely with Rams management to help shop his client around and ultimately struck a deal with the Falcons earlier today.
All in all, this is a low-risk, potentially high-reward acquisition by the Falcons.
Since entering the league, Jefferson has reeled in 179 catches for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns. He had been with the Rams his whole career after being selected in the second round back in 2020.
Atlanta (3-2) hosts the Washington Commanders (2-3) on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
