Four-star Florida linebacker Jaden Robinson flips to Gators from SEC foe
Following an electric run during Friday Night Lights weekend, the Florida Gators continue to land four-star prospects, the latest being Jaden Robinson of Lake City, Florida.
Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker committed to the Gamecocks on July 4. Before his commitment, Robinson received an offer from the nearby Gators on July 3. While Florida offered later than other programs, the Gators found a way to uproot his commitment from the Gamecocks.
The Columbia High School product was on campus during the summer and for FNL, allowing the Gators to work on the flip.
Inside linebackers coach Jay Bateman, outside linebackers coach and area recruiter Mike Peterson and defensive analyst Jamar Chaney were the coaches that helped reel in Robinson to the University of Florida.
Back in March, Corey Bender of Gators Online caught up with Robinson about the Gators and his relationship with the coaching staff.

“Definitely Mike P. That was my closest relationship when he was at South Carolina. I talked to him a lot,” Robinson said. “He was from around the area, and we connected from there.”
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Robinson is the No. 379 player nationally, good enough for the No. 36 linebacker in the 2023 class. With those rankings in mind, Robinson comes in as the No. 72 player in Florida.
In July, Robinson chose South Carolina over offers from Michigan, Kentucky and Maryland.
Robinson has two official visits remaining, one of which should be taken to UF.
Florida continues rolling on the trail
Given Florida’s recent linebacker recruiting struggles, Robinson is a huge addition to the Gators’ 2023 class. He is the Gators’ first linebacker commit in the 2023 class. The Gators now hold 17 verbal commitments with two more targets committing this weekend.
With the addition of Robinson, the Gators now sit at No. 12 in the On3 Team Recruiting Rankings.
